The first thing that surprises you when you get to Can Sort is its wide open scenery. One can see as far as the snowy peaks of the Pyrenees in the background and the extensive plains of the Ampurdán to the Bahia de Rosas. The farmhouse is situated on the slopes of a hill and is made up of several buildings. Each room is different: they are spacious, with an en-suite bathroom, wooden beams and all superbly decorated. They are divided up into different areas, some of them with a terrace or a direct access to the garden, and others are gabled, offering magnificent views . There are double rooms or familiar .. Homemade meals are served in the two small dining rooms in winter and in an outside terrace on summer evenings The gardens surround the house creating various nooks and chairs where you can read a book or just relax . The swimmingpool , the stables, the henhouse, the table-tennis,are for the most active. Several roads lead to the small villages nearby. Equestrian activities take place every morning for children and adults, after breakfast. |

Casa Etxalde is a beautiful country house built at the beginning of the 20th located on the outskirts of Rocabruna, 7 Km. from Camprodon (El Ripollès), 950 m. above sea level and is only 35 minutes away from the Vallter 2000 ski resort. The estate is surrounded by green prairie on which horses graze, with leafy woods of oaks, ashes, beeches…, and has a water creek that runs around the house. Our guest rooms have views to the valley and are fully equipped with heating, bathrooms and TV. Some of our lovely rooms also include a kitchen. The ground floor includes a reception desk and two cozy dining rooms with capacity for 18 people, as well as a sitting room with a TV, sofas and a table for board games. Casa Etxalde has two marvellous gardens. One is at the same level of the house itself. It has tables and chairs, a barbeque, a fountain with fish and a fenced area with rabbits. This garden is a fantastic place to enjoy the views from under the shade of one of its willows. The other garden is located at a lower level and has a magnificent swimming pool that little ones (as well as the not so little) will take delight in summertime. The property grounds also boasts a small lake with some geese and ducks. Casa Etxalde is part of a beautiful 45ha estate, with meadows, oaks, ashes, and chestnut trees. |
