Estalagem do Vale is located in the north of Madeira (Municipality of S. Vicente - Sítio das Feiteiras). It is nestled in a rural setting, and the hotel has emerged from the renovation and extension of an 18th century manor house with great historical value, all while maintaining the shape of the original house. The inn have 41 rooms – one of them with disabled facilities, a restaurant, bar, cellar, games room, library, Internet area, children’s playground, indoor / outdoor swimming pool, mini-golf, croquet lawn, bowling green, sauna, Turkish bath, gym and Jacuzzi. One of the inn’s main features is its surrounding green areas. It is located in one of the most beautiful parts of Madeira. From one of the hotel’s belvederes, you can appreciate the full splendour of the S. Vicente valley and the deep blue shimmer of the north Atlantic, with all its magic and connection to the enormous mountains. The sweeping horizons, magnificent southern exposure and surrounding scenery lend the area an unrivalled beauty and great sense of tranquillity. The Vale forest is located in the area of "Laurissilva", which is a world heritage site due to the rare richness of its flora, from the Tertiary Age. Porto da Cruz is one of the parishes belonging to the Machico council. Its name came from a cross (Cruz) that was placed by the explorers on the bay once used as port (Porto). The attractions of this small parish are hidden and you´ll have to take a closer look to find them. One of them is the old sugar cane factory, which is still operating the same way, as it was when it started with the sugar production in 1927. Also not to be missed is the place known as Penha d´Águia, an imposing rock that separates Porto da Cruz from Faial. Getting up there might be a challenge, as the road is very steep, but the songs of the birds will help you on the way up and once you get there you´ll be sure it was definitely worth it. Porto da Cruz is also famous for its wine, (dry red wine made of a type of grape called Americana), this local product is the theme for a celebration happening in September (Festa do Vinho). In Porto da Cruz there are another two wonderful religious celebrations in August The Villa Ricardo is located in a beautiful slope above the entrance of Porto da Cruz. It is a large property with a high level comfortable accommodation in a quiet location, has several terraces enjoying uninterrupted panoramic sea view, and a subtropical garden of exotic fruit trees and small banana trees. The property owner valued a stylish and friendly environment. The house has 3 double bedrooms, (with the possibility of an extra bed and cradle for baby), all with private bathroom (shower) and TVset. In the winter all the rooms are heated by a device that recovers the heat released by the fireplace, and automatically distributes it to the rooms. The sitting-room is equipped with TVset, DVD, Stereo System, Computer, Internet WI-FI, Safety Deposit Box, WC, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Outside you can enjoy the heated pool and the sunbathing area with views to the ocean and the Village. In September, wine is made in Villa Ricardo, by a centennial traditional process. There is also a historical wine cellar. |

Calhau Grande is a group of rural self catering cottages located in Arco da Calheta with panoramic views over the ocean. The cottages were careful and eco-friendly restored, fitting in the natural and country environment, framed by the beauty of the sea view and the energy of the stones. It´s familiar, romantic, cosy and peaceful! You can also find the gardens, relax by the swimming pool, enjoy the agricultural land with fruit trees, vegetable gardens and aromatic herbs. The houses: Cottage Sol The cottage known as "The sun of Calhau Grande"! House Sol is a cozy cottage with two floors. The ground floor has a cozy area with the bed, kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. Upstairs is a comfortable lounge area built from local wood in the eaves of the building. It is a truly warm room which can also be used to rest, play or to read. The cottage enjoys its own balcony, leading to its private manicured garden with a table and chairs where you can sip a glass of wine or take a meal as the sun goes down. Outside there is also the barbecue where you can cook your own meals while looking out the view over the ocean. This cottage is the top cottage of Calhau Grande. Its crowning glory is exactly its floor-to-ceiling opening glass wall at the front which gives unbelievable views to the sea and to the garden- even while lying in bed!! Cottage Tenda The cottage known as "the breathtaking view"! Accessed over its own little wooden bridge, Tenda is a one-bedroom apartment which has its own kitchenette, a brand-new and tastefully furnished bathroom and a large balcony. Its crowning glory, however, is its floor-to-ceiling opening glass wall at the front which gives unbelievable views to the sea - even while lying in bed!! To sit on Tenda's balcony enjoying a meal with a glass of Madeiran wine is an experience to be savoured. You will love it! Cottage Sapateiro The cottage known as "The family shelter"! Sapateiro is the largest of the holiday homes and boasts a rustic stone and wood living room, a kitchen, barbecue area and two good-sized bedrooms with beautiful furniture and a floor-to-ceiling opening glass wall with stunning views over the sea. Both of the bedrooms have brand new and tasteful ensuite bathrooms. This is the perfect retreat for a small family or two couples wishing to enjoy a holiday together. Cottage Calhau The cottage known as "Calhau Grande's heart"! Calhau is the ideal place to spend your holidays in Madeira, with family or friends. Being in the garden of this cottage overlooking the sea causes you calmness, serenity and peace of mind. From the kitchen, the grand visual and physical opening for the living room gives the feeling of comfort in addition to the freshness of outdoor space (garden, sea, plants...). Cottage Júnior The cottage known as "pure connection with MotherNature"! Junior is a one-bedroom apartment which has its own kitchenette, a brand-new and tastefully furnished bathroom and a large garden. From the garden or from the inside of the house, you can experience unbelievable views to the sea!! Being on Júnior 's garden spending some time relaxing and enjoying the blue ocean and it’s contrast with the green of the environment, is an experience you will take in your heart. Cottage Levada The cottage known as "The drink at sunset"! Levada is a one-bedroom apartment which has its own kitchenette, a brand-new and tastefully furnished bathroom and a large garden. This is where you feel like hugging the sea and its unbelievable views!! To sit on Levada's garden enjoying the entire environment around you by the sunset is something you will never forget. Cottage Palha "The romantic getaway"! Palha is a confortable studio originated from our first cottage Palheiro. It has a cosy living area with the bedroom, kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. The main entrance of the studio is made by ample glass sliding doors, becoming it a truly warm and welcoming space. The cottage enjoys its own private balcony with a table and chairs where you can sip a glass of wine or take a meal as the sun goes down. Cottage Eira "Newest cottage in Calhau Grande" House Eira is a comfortable cottage with two floors. On the ground floor, you will find the living room, the kitchenette area and a bathroom with shower. At the front, separated by floor to ceiling sliding doors, there is the private garden with a magnificent view over the ocean. Some already called this cottage as Gods View. Here you can seat and read or enjoy a meal by the sun and breeze of Calhau Grande. Upstairs is the bedroom - a comfortable area built from local wood, privileged by unbelievable views to the sea and to the garden- even while lying in bed!! Solar da Bica is located in the São Vicente civil parish, the one on the northern side of the island that is closest to the main city. The house, on the traditional Madeiran architectural style, was adapted to rural tourism. When staying at Vale de São Vicente you are in the heart of the largest laurel forest area: Forest Considered as part of World Heritage. The forest can be your staring point for different drives or hikes, for you to feel the nature in its wilderness and enjoy the breathtaking landscapes around. Solar da Bica assures guests a comfortable and pleasant stay. The property comprises 10 bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, each equipped with a cable television, a direct dial telephone and central heating. Common or shared facilities includes a comforatble and large living room with fireplace, a self-service bar, terrace, porch, internet access, childrens playing area and gardens wit breathtaking views. There is ample parking on a separate lot behind the house. Additional attractions include the magnificent heated and covered swimming pool with skylight windows. The swimming pool also offers a gymnasium set at one end of the pool and a lovely sauna at the other end. For barbecue cooking enthusiasts there is a unique private area for barbecueing with a fully equipped open plan kitchen, a traditional stone oven and a large outside sitting area around a large basalt slab that serves as a table. Please note that meals can be requested upon prior and timely requests directly to the owners when staying on the property. |

Vila Marta is located at the bottom of the small mount of São Martinho, on the west surroundings of Funchal, just about 4 km west from the city centre. From the Vila you can enjoy a wonderful view over the sea and also over Bananas fields. The vila has 8 Studio-apartments and one Suite. The family João Joel Silva Alves and its team will greet all guests to the Vila Marta and wish them a nice and comfortable stay at the lovely Madeira Island. The whole team will undertake all efforts to ensure that your stay is in a friendly atmosphere. In Vila Marta, each Studio and the Suite have two individual beds, a safe deposit box, private bathroom, a small kitchen and balcony. All rooms are well decorated and offer cable TV (with 30 channels) and direct dial telephone to the exterior. The Bathrooms (with bath or shower) are fully equipped, including hair dryer. The small kitchen is fully equipped with cooking utensils, hand-towels and towels for the dishes, fridge, toaster and coffee machine. For the first breakfast, all the necessary ingredients are provided. Fresh bread is left on each apartment every day after approximately 7 a.m. If you wish a complete breakfast can also be prepared for other days, but it will be considered as an extra service (not included in the price). A daily cleaning service is provided and it includes making the beds, washing the dishes and changing the towels. Linen is changed every two days. Transfer from the airport can be provided. |
