Welcome to Mas Prat
Mas Prat
is a “masia” ( a Catalan traditional rural house ) which was built in 1857; my grandparents bought it in 1920, they renovated and extended it, and from then on it has been known as Cal Peó, a name, “peó”, that has got its origins in the work a man carried out cleaning and repairing the surrounding roads, and that was my grandfather’s work.
La Masia
The masia has got splendid views, and it is surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and a vegetable garden which my family has always cultivated; we also breed rabbits, hens and the native Penedès cocks, so we have got products of our own.
Location
We are located beside the small quarter of Bonavista in the municipality of El Pla del Penedès, between the main towns of the Alt Penedès; we are only 50 km. from Barcelona, Vilafranca del Penedès (12 km) and Sant Sadurní d’Anoia (7 km), and 30 km. from the seaside (Sitges, Vilanova i la Geltrú).
Facilities
On the premises of the masia there is a barbecue available, and you can enjoy yourselves in the garden and in the swimming-pool.Internet wifi service.
What you can visit
You can visit its numerous wine cellars and “caves”, its interesting weekly markets, museums, Romanesque churches, traditional fairs and “festes majors”, festivals with their folklore and impressive “castells” (human towers).
