It is bound to make reference to the importance of the chestnut tree when we talk about this natural beauty spot. Its fruit has been for the long time the fundamental base of the feeding of the inhabitants of this area. It was an important ingredient of many meals as for example the chestnut broth as breakfast, chestnuts with bacon or milk with chestnuts. But not only the fruit but the entire tree was used: sheets to cover the soil of animal stables, wood and flower for the production of honey.
