Naturlandia Animal Park
The first animal park in Andorra open its doors at Naturlàndia, the adventure park of Andorra, in the la Rabassa forest in Sant Julià de Lòria.
With an area of 16 Ha, the animal park will have several local species of the Pyrenees such as chamois, bears, wolves, wolf cubs, deer and marmots, as well as an interactive children's area with farm animals where youngsters can take part in the jobs of agriculture and stock breeding in Andorra.
A large 1.5 Ha area devoted to the brown bear will give you better knowledge of the habits of this species which was recently introduced in the Pyrenees, and allow the public to do pedagogical workshops.
All of the areas are fitted out with viewpoints and walkways to enable us to see the animals in their natural habitat.
Rural Habitat Circuit
The Rural Habitat Circuit is an interesting tour of three museum-houses representing the three social tiers of Andorra before the Industrial Revolution and the economic development related to the arrival of tourism: noble ‘prohoms’, peasant landowners and labourers and peasants without lands.
The tour is formed by the Casa d’Areny-Plandolit in Ordino, an illustrious family from Andorra related to politics and the owners of one of the most important forges in Andorra in the 18th and 19th centuries; Casa Rull, in the pretty village of Sispony in the parish of La Massana, owned by the Perich family of peasant landowners, was one of the most important houses in the parish: and Casa Cristo in Encamp is an example of a humble dwelling like those of most of the population, owned by a family of labourers or peasants without lands.
These houses have been conditioned to inform the contemporary public of the experiences hidden behind their walls and show us the social and economic differences in their work in the Andorra of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
