Our history

The Serra de Cap de Costa

Today, it is one of the largest farms, ancient and emblematic of the municipal area of Puig-Reig. Its origins must be sought probably in the high middle ages, in the reconquest of central Catalonia by the Catalan counts.

However, the House appears not documented until the 13th century when the term became part of the possessions of the order of the Temple of St. John of Jerusalem.

This, should retain the same territorial extension until the 16th century.

In the register of 1497, includes Joan Serra, inhabitant of the term of Puig-Reig, and most likely would be the master and possessor of the masia Serra de Cap de Costa, being this inherited in the year 1553 by Pere Joan Serra.

The year 1588 he became a possession of Jacobus Serra de Cap de Costa and his wife Joanne Serra.

From these moments, the heirs of the farmhouse, overriding Cap Serra de Costa.

Rural life

In our accommodation, if you like, you can be part of the every day of our rural work, whether milking a cow, feeding hens (giving us some eggs of incredible flavor), picking vegetables in our organic garden etc.…

We live with the natural environment, we cultivate our fields, we have animals, we work our ecological orchard for great part of our meal…

We like to live in this way, and we combined with rural accommodation that we allow people to discover the art of living off the land and its virtues as well as the effort that entails.

But as we have always done, we will continue to live our effort and care as much as possible our environment.
