The dry continental climate and the predominance of limestone terrain, poor in organic matter in the area of production, causing stress on the vine, answering this with low yields and good maturation.

The calcareous soils (high pH 7, 5-8, 5), offered little resistance to roots the penetrations, reflect sunlight and stored its heat to the night time.

These factors contribute to obtain well-structured red wines, complex and elegant.

The weather conditions in the summer, with temperatures that soften at the end of this season, lead a slower end of maturation, resulting in increased development of Polyphenolic compounds and the conservation of the aromas.
