The climate in this region is less humid than in the rest of Galicia, combining the Atlantic influence with continental elements, resulting in very good conditions for the cultivation of quality: high brightness, mild temperatures and very generous rainfall (800 mm of annual rain.)

Vineyards are aligned on the slopes of the mountains that frame the Valley River and at the bottom of this, occupying slate soils of very good physical conditions and adequate fertility, sometimes on steep slopes, occupying an area of approximately 1,500 ha.
