Extremadura

This region counts with more than 87.000 hectares devoted to wine production, including six different sub-regions: Cañamero and Montánchez in the province of Cáceres; Ribera Alta, Ribera Baja, Matanegra y Tierra de Barros in the province of Badajoz.

This region currently has more than 7.000 hectares under the D.O. Ribera del Guadiana.

In this region there are produced white wines –some of them of great interest due to their modernity-, whites fermented in barrel, also attractive pink and red wines, both youthful and oak barrel vintage ones.

In all cases, we are talking about soft wines with amplitude, nicely warm and moderately acid.

They also show very particular bouquets, with a clear hallmark in common.
